Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Field Sample Handler to join our construction materials testing team. This role involves the collection, handling, and transportation of construction material samples — such as concrete cylinders, soil samples, and aggregate specimens — from active job sites to the central laboratory for analysis. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in outdoor environments, adheres to strict safety and quality protocols, and is capable of representing the company professionally at construction sites.
Requirements

Collect field samples of concrete, soil, and other construction materials from various job sites.

Properly label, document, and store samples to preserve integrity and prevent contamination.

Transport samples safely to laboratory facilities in compliance with industry standards and internal procedures.

Operate field equipment (e.g., slump cones, air meters, wheelbarrows, and lifting gear) as needed.

Communicate effectively with site personnel, engineers, and internal staff to coordinate sample pick-up and delivery.

Maintain accurate field records and chain-of-custody documentation.

Perform basic on-site testing (e.g., concrete temperature, slump, and air content) when required.

Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Perform vehicle checks and ensure cleanliness and maintenance of transportation equipment.

Assist laboratory staff with organizing and storing incoming samples.
Qualifications
-
Previous experience in construction, materials testing, or sample handling preferred.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with construction site protocols and safety procedures is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Walk, stand, or kneel for extended periods on active construction sites.
