Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our materials testing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing on construction materials, including but not limited to concrete cylinders, soil samples, and aggregates. This role supports construction and geotechnical engineering projects through precise and timely testing, documentation, and reporting.
Requirements

Prepare and test concrete specimens (e.g., cylinders, cubes) for strength and quality in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards.

Perform laboratory classification and index tests on soil samples (e.g., Atterberg Limits, grain size analysis, moisture content, compaction tests).

Assist in the logging, labeling, and organization of incoming samples.

Maintain accurate and organized test records, lab reports, and data entries.

Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established schedules.

Comply with company safety policies and ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free laboratory environment.

Assist with aggregate and asphalt testing as needed.

Communicate clearly with project managers, field technicians, and engineering staff regarding test results and project timelines.
Certifications
-
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
-
Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Training
-
NICET Certification in Construction Materials Testing – Soils or Concrete
Qualifications
-
0–3 years of relevant experience in a construction materials testing lab.

Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant industry standards.

Working knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.

Ability to lift heavy samples and stand for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Experience with laboratory software and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.​

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Walk, stand, or kneel for extended periods on active construction sites.

Work in a variety of outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and uneven terrain.
